Salary: Up to £55,000 DOE

An established and growing independent accountancy firm in Taunton is seeking an experienced ACA or ACCA qualified Accounts Manager to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident practice professional looking to manage a varied client portfolio and play a key role in the firm’s continued development.

The Role
You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of owner-managed businesses and supporting junior staff, while delivering high-quality compliance and advisory services.

Key responsibilities include:
Managing a portfolio of SME clients across a range of sectors
Preparation and review of statutory accounts for limited companies
Review of corporation tax returns and overseeing personal tax compliance
Acting as main point of contact for clients, providing proactive advice
Supporting and mentoring junior team members
Assisting partners with workflow management and client development

The Ideal Candidate
ACA or ACCA qualified
Strong background in UK accountancy practice
Experience managing a client portfolio
Confident reviewing accounts and tax work
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Commercially aware and client focused
