Tax Manager – Personal Tax
📍 Leeds | 💼 Hybrid (up to 3 days WFH) | 💰 Competitive salary + bonus + benefits
About the Role
We’re seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join a leading private client tax team in Leeds. You’ll manage the personal tax compliance cycle for a diverse portfolio of clients — including individuals, trusts, partnerships, and LLPs — across a variety of sectors, particularly landed estates and rural businesses.
This role combines hands-on compliance management with opportunities for advisory work and team leadership, making it ideal for someone looking to broaden their technical expertise while mentoring junior staff.
What You’ll Do
Manage and review the delivery of personal tax compliance for a portfolio of private clients
Provide ad hoc tax advice relating to income tax, CGT, IHT, international tax, and trust planning
Support junior team members through coaching, feedback, and on-the-job training
Liaise directly with clients, partners, and HMRC to ensure high service standards
Participate in firmwide initiatives such as committees, training sessions, or internal presentations (optional)
About You
CTA and/or ACA/ACCA qualified, or equivalent
Strong background in personal tax compliance and advisory work
Previous experience managing a client portfolio and reviewing others’ work
Skilled at managing deadlines and maintaining high accuracy under pressure
Confident communicator with clients and colleagues alike
Excellent IT skills and familiarity with tax/accounting software
Professional services background essential
Experience with landed estates, rural clients, or trust taxation would be highly advantageous.
