Private Client Tax Assistant Manager

We are seeking an experienced Private Client Tax Assistant Manager to join a respected and growing professional services firm in the South East. This position offers the opportunity to manage a diverse client portfolio, work on a variety of personal tax compliance and advisory projects, and develop strong, long-term relationships with clients and colleagues alike.

The Role

  • Manage a portfolio of private clients including business owners, families, and high-net-worth individuals.

  • Deliver high-quality personal tax compliance services and support advisory projects.

  • Take ownership of workflow, budgets, and client deadlines to ensure smooth delivery.

  • Keep technical knowledge current through regular training and by monitoring legislative developments.

  • Collaborate across departments to provide joined-up client service and share technical insights.

  • Attend client meetings, contribute to planning discussions, and help identify opportunities for added value.

  • Review the work of junior staff and support their technical and professional development.

  • Oversee billing and WIP management to maintain profitability and efficiency.

About You

  • Qualified ATT/CTA (or equivalent), or qualified by experience.

  • Strong track record in personal or private client tax within a professional practice.

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build trusted client relationships.

  • Attention to detail, proactive mindset, and confidence managing complex workloads.
