Clark Wood are currently working with a well-established and highly regarded firm of Chartered Accountants in Shrewsbury who are seeking to recruit an Audit & Accounts Manager to join their expanding team.

As an Audit & Accounts Manager, you will take responsibility for managing a varied and diverse client portfolio across multiple sectors. You will oversee the preparation and review of statutory accounts and tax compliance work, while leading audit assignments from planning through to completion. You will be responsible for audit strategy, risk assessments, and ensuring audits are delivered efficiently, profitably, and to a high technical standard.
You will manage and supervise audit teams, reviewing work, providing technical guidance, and mentoring junior and senior staff to support their development. You will act as a key point of contact for clients, building and maintaining strong professional relationships, and will be involved in advising clients on accounting, audit, and wider business matters.
The role will also involve contributing to the firm’s wider development, including workflow management, staff training, and supporting partners with business development initiatives and internal process improvements.
The ideal candidate will be ACA or ACCA qualified, with significant experience in a mixed audit and accounts role within an accountancy practice. You will have proven experience managing audit assignments and teams, strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines effectively.
