Accounts Manager – Independent Accountancy Firm
Location: Exmouth, Devon

Clark Wood is working with an established and growing independent firm of accountants based in Exmouth, serving a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses and SMEs across Devon and the South West.
Due to continued growth, the firm is seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to take responsibility for managing a portfolio of OMB and SME clients, overseeing accounts preparation and compliance, and supporting junior team members.
This is a key client-facing role with clear progression opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Managing a portfolio of OMB and SME clients across a range of sectors
Preparation and review of statutory accounts for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders
Review of management accounts and VAT returns
Corporation tax compliance and liaison with tax colleagues where required
Acting as the main point of contact for clients, providing day-to-day advice and support
Planning and managing workflow to meet deadlines
Reviewing work of junior staff and providing training and mentoring
Assisting partners with client meetings and business development where appropriate

Candidate Requirements

ACA / ACCA qualified
Strong background in practice, ideally within an independent or regional firm
Experience managing a varied SME/OMB client portfolio
