Accounts Manager – Hereford
Independent Chartered Accountants | Career Progression | Client-Facing Role
Our client, a growing independent firm of Chartered Accountants in Hereford, is seeking an ACCA/ACA Qualified Accounts Manager to join their expanding team.
This role is ideal for an individual with a strong background in accounts and tax, looking to work closely with Partners in a general practice capacity. You will manage a portfolio of owner-managed businesses (OMBs), SMEs, and farming clients, while providing support and guidance to junior staff.
Key Responsibilities

Oversee a diverse client portfolio, including OMBs, SMEs, and agricultural clients
Review and support the work of junior staff, providing guidance and mentoring
Prepare and review statutory accounts and tax compliance work
Collaborate with Partners on general practice and advisory projects
Maintain strong client relationships and ensure high-quality service delivery

Candidate Requirements

ACCA/ACA qualified or equivalent experience
Proven experience in general practice, ideally managing accounts and tax for a varied client base
Strong leadership and mentoring skills
Excellent communication, organisation, and client-facing abilities
Experienced Accounts Seniors looking to progress into a managerial role are also encouraged to apply
