Looking for a new challenge and real progression? Clark Wood, a specialist VAT Recruiter is currently working with one of the region's leading firms? Our client in Reading is looking for a VAT Associate Director to manage and control a substantial portfolio of clients in the office, ensuring both excellent client service and making a significant contribution towards the overall future development and success of the office and firm.

Leading initiatives to develop new client relationships and take ideas to market.  Building a need for, and recruiting, junior support. Working within the regional VAT practice to share knowledge, experience and resource.

Principal Accountabilities;

Ensure that the clients' VAT needs, both advisory and compliance, are fully met within the terms of the engagement.

Ensure VAT advice and services are technically sound and to manage any potential risk exposure to the Firm by adhering to the Firm's quality standards

Manage the financial performance of all VAT codes assigned to the office and meet financial targets set as part of the performance measurement process.

Identify and advise on VAT planning opportunities and to undertake specialist technical assignments as required.

Manage the engagement in accordance with the firm's standard procedures and confirm arrangements with the client, including likely costs and billing arrangements.

Key Skills;

CTA / ATII qualified is preferred or equivalent

Previous experience operating at Manager Level in a similar role is required, or can demonstrate the skill set required to undertake the role.

Proven VAT experience in producing high quality work within budget.

Broad VAT technical knowledge and understanding of VAT compliance procedures

VAT experience from a practice background would be a distinct advantage.

Business development experience and interest in this aspect would be desirable.

Deep technical knowledge in one or more VAT areas
