Trust Manager Job Opportunity in Leeds – Join a Leading Solicitors Practice!

We are working with a well-respected Solicitors Practice in Leeds seeking an experienced Trust Manager to manage the day-to-day administration and compliance of various trusts with diverse asset portfolios. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with trust management expertise to advance their career within a dynamic and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Annual Trust Accounts & Tax Compliance: Prepare annual trust accounts, file tax returns with HMRC, and arrange for timely tax payments.

  2. Reporting & Compliance: Manage reporting obligations for CRS, FATCA, and the Trust Registration Service, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and staying updated on changes.

  3. Trust Distributions & Documentation: Coordinate trust distributions, notify trustees of key events, and work with the Probate, Trusts, and Estate Planning (PTEP) team to draft necessary documents.

  4. Trustees' Meetings: Organise and attend trustee meetings, prepare reports, take minutes, and liaise with solicitors or partners when necessary.

  5. Tax Calculations & Reporting: Calculate inheritance tax, complete ten-year anniversary and exit charge forms, and handle capital gains tax reporting on property sales.

  6. Financial Management: Oversee the financial aspects of all assigned files, including billing and arranging payment of bills.

  7. Communication: Maintain regular communication with trustees, beneficiaries, tax advisors, and partners, ensuring smooth management of all trust-related matters.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Accounting qualification with experience in preparing trust accounts and tax returns.

  • Strong knowledge of trust administration, including complex trusts with sub-funds.

  • Expertise in income tax, capital gains tax, and inheritance tax.

  • Experience with CCH Trust Accounts or similar tax return preparation software.
