Private Client Tax Senior (Including Corporate Tax Training- If Desired)

Location: Berkshire (Reading) (2–3 days) / Central London (1 day optional) | Hybrid working 2-3 days working from home (DOE).
Salary: £35,000 – £47,000 (DOE)
Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Firm

We are a well-established and growing advisory and accountancy practice, with a unique structure that blends large, complex corporate clients with long-standing owner-managed businesses (OMBs). Our client base spans across entertainment, media, property, and international private clients — ranging from high-net-worth individuals and creatives to sole traders and trusts.

We're a people-first firm: informal, close-knit, and highly supportive. Culture is a big part of what we do — open conversations, collaborative teamwork, and a strong focus on work-life balance are at the heart of how we operate. Although we’re now a top 20 firm, our office and teams remain happy and effective — it never feels corporate or impersonal.

The Role

We’re looking for a Personal Tax Senior to join our growing tax team. The role is primarily compliance-focused (about 80%) but also offers meaningful advisory exposure (around 20%) that arises naturally through working closely with clients.

You’ll be involved with a high-calibre and varied portfolio including HNWIs, international individuals, property clients, sole traders, and trusts. The role includes ownership of a portfolio of around 150 clients, with autonomy to build relationships and take ownership of your workflow and client communications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing a portfolio of approx. 150 personal tax clients (compliance and advisory).

  • Preparing and reviewing personal tax returns.

  • Advising clients on:

    • Residence and domicile issues

    • Pension and tapering planning

    • Trust and estate matters

    • Capital gains and IHT strategies

    • SEIS/EMI (if of interest)

  • Attending client meetings alongside senior staff and partners.

  • Building strong, lasting client relationships.

  • Collaborating closely with corporate tax, accounts, and wider internal teams.

  • Supporting the team with the annual workload of approx. 500–600 tax returns.

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in personal tax, ideally within practice.

  • ATT and/or CTA qualified, or QBE with relevant experience.

  • Confident and self-sufficient — able to manage your own portfolio.

  • A strong communicator with a personable, down-to-earth style.

  • A team player who values openness, support, and flexibility.

  • Enjoys client-facing work — including meetings, socialising, and building rapport.

What’s on Offer

  • Flexible Hybrid Working: typically 2 or 3 days in our Berkshire office, with the option of 1 day in the Central London office.

  • Autonomy & Variety: Space to develop your own specialisms or take on advisory projects.

  • Supportive Team Environment: Experienced team with a people-focused approach.

  • Real Progression: Clear opportunities for advancement, whether toward more advisory work or leadership.

  • Diverse Client Base: From creatives and entrepreneurs to international individuals and property investors.

Interview Process

  1. First Stage: Informal in-person meeting with members of the tax management team.

  2. Second Stage: In-person meeting with a senior partner.
