Personal Tax Manager

Tax recruitment specialists Clark Wood are delighted to be working with a distinguished and highly prominent St Albans based firm of chartered accountants who are looking to add an experienced and driven Personal Tax Manager to their team.

As a Personal Tax Manager you will work closely with the Senior Tax Manager and Partner to ensure the efficient provision of a range of technical services to a variety of prestigious clients based across the UK.

You will form an integral part of the firm’s personal tax team and will be responsible for managing your own client portfolio. You will have responsibility for overseeing Tax Seniors and Trainees within the team which will see you reviewing their work and providing support and guidance to them as necessary.

The ideal candidate may be ATT or CTA Qualified and will have a wealth of experience in Personal Tax (ideally a minimum of 5 years).

Duties & Responsibilities:

Manage and service your own private client portfolio. This mainly involves the delivery of self-assessment tax returns but can also include advisory work that arises from the portfolio, billing and managing work in progress.

Manage more junior members of the team to deliver on your portfolio.

Responsibility for departmental initiatives and programmes whilst continuing involvement in supervision, training and development of the team.

Possible line management of more junior members of staff

Ensure tax department administration is kept up to date, and routine administration dealt with in a timely manner.

Liaise and communicate with other departments, clients and partners.

Identify cross selling opportunities to partner through networking.

Support Tax Partner.

Responsibility for departmental initiatives and programmes.

Maintain up to date technical knowledge.

Involvement in marketing of the tax service line by attending client functions and seminars.

Review complex client tax returns.
