Clark Wood is delighted to be working with a leading national accountancy firm with a significant presence in Northampton, who are currently seeking an experienced and commercially focused Personal Tax Senior Manager to join their established Private Client team.
This is an outstanding opportunity for a senior tax professional to join a high-performing firm that offers complex and high-value work, a strong emphasis on advisory services, and a genuine path to Director level and beyond.
Role Overview:
As a Personal Tax Senior Manager, you will be responsible for managing a significant portfolio of HNWIs, non-domiciled individuals, entrepreneurs, trusts, and estates, delivering both complex compliance and advisory services. You will play a key role in leading client relationships, mentoring team members, and supporting the strategic growth of the private client tax offering.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing a portfolio of high-value and technically complex personal tax clients
Providing expert advisory services on a range of issues including capital gains tax, inheritance tax, trusts, residence and domicile
Reviewing and overseeing the completion of self-assessment tax returns and computations
Leading client meetings, developing strong working relationships and identifying new advisory opportunities
Supporting Directors and Partners on strategic planning and business development initiatives
Managing, mentoring, and reviewing the work of junior staff and tax managers
Ensuring technical excellence, risk management, and regulatory compliance across the team
Candidate Requirements:
CTA and/or ACA qualified, with significant post-qualification experience in personal tax
Proven track record of managing a complex portfolio within a large or mid-tier firm
Extensive knowledge of UK personal tax legislation, including HNW and international tax issues
Strong client management and communication skills
Leadership qualities and experience managing and developing junior team members
A commercial mindset, with a willingness to contribute to business development and internal growth
