Overview 

Clark Wood are working with a leading accountancy practice in Cardiff who are seeking an experienced Personal Tax Manager or Senior Manager to join their growing private client tax team.

This is a compliance-focused position, offering the chance to manage a high-quality portfolio whilst enjoying a balanced hybrid working arrangement in modern offices at Cardiff Gate.

Key Responsibilities

·       Manage a varied portfolio of personal tax clients, including high-net-worth individuals, company directors, landlords, and sole traders

·       Lead and review the preparation of Self Assessment tax returns and associated compliance work

·       Ensure compliance deadlines are met and that all work is completed to a high technical standard

·       Act as the primary point of contact for clients, delivering clear and proactive communication

·       Review work prepared by junior staff and provide mentoring, training, and technical support

·       Identify potential advisory opportunities and liaise with senior leadership where appropriate

·       Maintain an up-to-date understanding of UK tax legislation and HMRC requirements

·       Contribute to internal process improvements and the development of best practice within the tax team

About You

·       CTA and/or ACA/ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience)

·       Strong background in personal tax compliance within an accountancy practice environment

·       Confident reviewing returns and managing a busy and varied client portfolio

·       Excellent communication and client relationship skills

·       Comfortable supporting and developing junior team members

·       Proactive, well-organised, and able to work effectively within a hybrid structure
