Clark Wood are delighted to be working with a leading firm of accountants in South Bath who are looking for a Payroll Manager to join their team and oversee the payroll department

This will be a client facing role processing a variety of payroll combinations from single director annual & monthly to multi employee weekly.

The successful candidate will have experience and knowledge of the various aspects of payroll processing to include SSP, SMP and auto enrolment; they will evidence that they have been proactive in keeping up to date with payroll legislation; they will be able to work on their own initiative without requiring regular supervision. A professional payroll qualification will be an advantage, as will evidence of keeping up to date with latest payroll legislation.

The role can be part time or can be full time with working from home options & flexible hours as standard and can include (when payroll duties permit) some general accounting or administrative activities for which training can be provided.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Payroll services for 150+ clients.

Full reporting to HMRC.

Reporting to & liaising with pension providers and the Pensions Regulator; requires working knowledge of AE. Uploading pension data; registration for AE & redeclaration of compliance

Work and diary management to ensure compliance and excellent client service.

Good relationship & communication with clients via phone, email and web portal, dealing effectively with payroll / pension and related queries.

Some processing of salary / HMRC payments via internet.

Providing training on payroll software to other staff and checking / managing agreed work.

Billing for payroll services.

Other client services where time available and within training / experience capabilities.
