Bookkeeper (Practice)

Accountancy Practice recruitment specialists Clark Wood are currently working with an established and progressive independent firm of chartered accountants in central Bristol who are seeking to recruit a Bookkeeper to join their team where you will be responsible for dealing with a range of external clients.

The ideal candidate will be adept in all aspects of bookkeeping work and will have experience of working within practice, handling multiple external clients at any one time.

You will be responsible for working with your own portfolio of clients, ensuring that all deadlines for those clients are adhered to. Your workload will include performing day to day bookkeeping for clients, preparation of accounts to Trial Balance, preparing VAT returns and processing client payrolls (payroll experience is desirable but not essential).

You will have strong experience of undertaking a varied bookkeeping role within a practice environment and may be AAT qualified / part qualified or Qualified by Experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Undertaking bookkeeping for clients
Preparing accounts to Trial Balance
Preparing and submitting VAT returns
Assisting with the preparation of management accounts
Processing payroll for clients
Maintaining up to date complete financial records
Liaising with multiple clients at any one time, maintaining and developing relationships
Attending clients’ premises as required to discuss / gather relevant information

Skills:

AAT Part Qualified / Qualified or Qualified by Experience
Payroll experience is desirable but not essential
Experience of working in practice is essential
