Accountancy Practice recruitment specialists Clark Wood are delighted to be working with a prestigious firm of chartered accountants who are keen to add an Audit & Accounts Senior to the team in their East London office.

They are now looking to add an experienced and ambitious individual who is keen to progress their career within a successful and progressive firm.

Working within this distinguished firm in their East London office, you will gain exposure to working with a wide array of clients including large standalone limited companies, group structured entities, and not for profits among others. As an Audit & Accounts Senior you will undertake a varied role in which you will work with a diverse client base comprised of businesses from an array of industry sectors.

The role will be varied and will see you leading audits from the planning stage through to completion, supervising junior team members and reporting to management. The audit aspect of the role is likely to account for approximately 80% of the overall workload. Aside from the audit focused nature of the role, the position will also include the preparation and review of statutory accounts and corporation tax compliance work.

You will be client facing and will be responsible for the management and supervision of junior staff, assisting in their development and providing support and guidance to them where necessary.

The ideal candidate will be ACCA or ACA Qualified (either newly qualified or with a couple of years’ PQE). Recent experience of working within a mixed audit & accounts role within practice is essential.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Prepare the audit plan and ensure it appropriately addresses audit objectives
Take an active part in the audit planning and fraud discussion to identify audit risks and appropriate audit strategy
Oversee all aspects of audit fieldwork and completion
Ensure planned audit work is appropriately completed to satisfy audit objectives
Supervising & developing more junior members of staff
Preparation and review of year end accounts for sole traders, limited companies & partnerships


ACA / ACCA Qualified
Experience of leading external Audit assignments as part of a varied role
