Accountancy Practice recruitment specialists Clark Wood are currently working with a leading, highly respected firm of chartered accountants in York who are looking to add an ACA / ACCA Qualified Audit & Accounts Senior to their team.

The role will include the preparation and review of accounts and tax compliance work as well as leading audit assignments from the initial planning stage through to completion on a range of respected and interesting clients in the area. The workload will be fairly evenly split between the audit and non-audit elements of the role.

Working as an Audit & Accounts Senior, the successful person will undertake a varied role in which you will gain exposure to a wide range of clients from a variety of business sectors.

You will be client facing and will be responsible for the supervision of junior staff, assisting in their development.

The ideal candidate will be ACCA / ACA Qualified or at the final stages of their studies and will have recent experience of undertaking a mixed audit and accounts position. Experience of leading audit assignments is essential.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Prepare the audit plan and ensure it appropriately addresses audit objectives
Take an active part in the audit planning and fraud discussion to identify audit risks and appropriate audit strategy
Oversee all aspects of audit fieldwork and completion
Ensure planned audit work is appropriately completed to satisfy audit objectives
Supervising & developing more junior members of staff
Accounts preparation for sole traders, limited companies & partnerships
Preparation of management accounts and reports for clients

Skills:

ACA / ACCA Qualified or Finalist
Experience of leading Audit assignments
