Clark Wood are working with an extremely well-regarded independent firm of chartered accountants in Woking who are now looking to add an Audit & Accounts Senior to their growing team.

As an Audit & Accounts Senior, you will undertake a varied role in which you will gain exposure to a diverse array of interesting clients from a variety of business sectors. The role will include the preparation and review of year-end accounts and tax compliance work as well as leading audit assignments from the initial planning stage through to completion. The audit element of the role is likely to account for approximately around 60% of the overall workload although this may vary to a degree depending on the individuals’ existing experience and aspirations.

Joining this distinguished firm, you will work with clients from a multitude of industries and, due to the firm’s excellent reputation in the area, you will gain exposure to working with some of the region’s premier businesses.

As a Senior in the Woking office you will be client facing and will be responsible for the supervision of junior staff, assisting in their development as they progress.

The ideal candidate will be ACA / ACA Qualified or at the final stages of their studies and will have recent experience of undertaking a mixed audit and accounts position, which would have included leading audit assignments.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Prepare the audit plan and ensure it appropriately addresses audit objectives
Take an active part in the audit planning and fraud discussion to identify audit risks and appropriate audit strategy
Oversee all aspects of audit fieldwork and completion
Ensure planned audit work is appropriately completed to satisfy audit objectives
Supervising & developing more junior members of staff
Accounts preparation for limited companies as well as some sole traders & partnerships
Preparation of corporation tax computations and returns

Skills:

ACA / ACCA Qualified or Finalist
Experience of leading Audit assignments
