Accountancy Practice recruitment specialists Clark Wood are working with a leading North East firm of chartered accountants who are looking to add an Audit & Accounts Assistant Manager to their growing team in Darlington.

As an Audit & Accounts Assistant Manager, the successful candidate will undertake a varied role in which you will gain exposure to a wide range of clients from a variety of business sectors.

You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of accounts clients, acting as first point of contact for them. You will you be responsible for preparing and reviewing year-end accounts and corporation tax returns for your clients. You will also be responsible for leading audit assignments on businesses from a wide array of sectors from the initial planning stage through to completion.

Joining the Darlington office you will work with clients from a multitude of industries and, due to the firm’s excellent reputation in the area, you will gain exposure to working with a range of premier businesses.

As an Assistant Manager you will of course be client facing and will be responsible for the supervision of junior staff, assisting in their development as they progress.

The ideal candidate will be ACA / ACA Qualified, with a couple of years’ post qualification experience, and will have recent experience of undertaking a mixed audit and accounts position.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Managing a portfolio of clients
Prepare the audit plan and ensure it appropriately addresses audit objectives
Take an active part in the audit planning and fraud discussion to identify audit risks and appropriate audit strategy
Oversee all aspects of audit fieldwork and completion
Ensure planned audit work is appropriately completed to satisfy audit objectives
Supervising & developing more junior members of staff
Accounts preparation for limited companies as well as some sole traders & partnerships

Skills:

ACA / ACCA Qualified
Experience of leading Audit assignments
Practice experience is essential
