Accountancy Practice recruitment specialists Clark Wood are working with an established and well-respected independent firm of chartered accountants in Sale who are now looking to add an experienced Accounts Technician / Senior Accounts Assistant to their team.

The successful individual will be responsible for undertaking a varied general practice with the workload including the preparation of year-end and management accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships as well as the preparation of the associated tax computations and returns. You will also be involved in day to day bookkeeping work for clients and the preparation of VAT
Returns as required.

The ideal candidate will have a sound foundation in general practice work to date and may be AAT Qualified or may be qualified by experience.

As an Accounts Technician / Senior Accounts Assistant, you will be adept in the preparation of year-end accounts and must have recent experience of working in practice. Strong software experience is essential with experience of Iris accounting software being very beneficial as well as other packages such as Xero and Sage.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
Preparation of personal and corporate tax computations and returns
Undertaking some Bookkeeping work for clients
Preparation of VAT returns and management accounts
Liaising with clients to resolve queries where necessary
Assisting in the training of junior staff as required.

Skills:

AAT Qualified / Qualified by Experience
Practice experience is essential
Strong accounting software experience (including Iris)
