Accounts Technician / Accounts Senior

Public Practice recruitment specialists Clark Wood are delighted to be working with a well-regarded and growing firm of Chartered Accountants in Essex who are now looking to recruit an Accounts Senior / Accounts Technician to join their team in Basildon.

As an Accounts Senior your role will predominantly consist of providing Accounting and Tax compliance services to a varied portfolio of clients including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies. The workload will involve preparation and review of both statutory and management accounts as well as tax compliance and VAT work.

This role offers the incumbent an excellent level of responsibility and autonomy as the successful candidate will work towards having responsibility for their own portfolio of clients as well as being involved in the supervision of junior members of the team.

The ideal candidate may be AAT Qualified, QBE, ACA / ACCA Qualified or in the process of studying still. Experience of working in a varied practice role is essential.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The role will predominantly involve preparing statutory accounts, management accounts and corporation tax computations and returns
You will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively under pressure to meet strict deadlines and work well within a team.
Experience of preparation of incorporated and unincorporated accounts in an accountancy practice using an accounting software package
Managing & supervising the work of more junior staff
Review accounts and act as point of reference to the team with regard to complex issues

Skills:

AAT Qualified or ACA / ACCA Qualified or QBE
Experience of undertaking a varied practice role
Up to date k knowledge of all relevant accounting standards
