Accountancy Practice recruitment specialists Clark Wood are working with an established and well regarded independent firm of chartered accountants in Nottingham who are looking to add an Accounts Supervisor to join their team.

As an Accounts Supervisor, you will sit within the firm’s Accounts & Bookkeeping department and your role will see you working with a diverse portfolio of clients which will include a mix of small-medium limited companies, sole traders and partnerships from a wide range of industries.

Your role will be primarily focused towards preparing and reviewing year-end accounts but will also see you reviewing bookkeeping and VAT returns completed by the junior team members.

You will be responsible for supervising and assisting in the development of junior staff which will include providing support to them where necessary and reviewing their work.

The ideal person for this role will be ACCA / ACA Qualified, or at the latter stages of their studies, with varied general practice experience. Excellent communication skills are key to this role as it is important that you can build and maintain a successful working relationship with multiple clients.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Acting as first point of contact to a diverse portfolio of clients.
Preparation and review of limited company accounts (both FRS 105 and FRS 102 1A) and their relevant corporation tax returns.
Bookkeeping and VAT returns for our more complex clients.
Reviewing junior members VAT returns.
Answering client bookkeeping queries.
Answering clients various accounting queries.

Skills:

ACCA / ACA Qualified (QBE will be considered)
Practice experience essential
Client management experience is beneficial
Experience of reviewing work prepared by junior members of staff
Good experience with Sage software and ability to use Xero and Quickbooks
