Specialist Accountancy Practice recruitment consultancy Clark Wood are working with a leading independent firm of chartered accountants in York who, as a result of continued growth, are now looking to recruit an ambitious and experience Accounts Senior / Accounts Technician to join their team.

Working as an Accounts Senior / Accounts Technician, the successful individual will undertake a varied role with excellent scope for development. You will have the opportunity to work with a varied portfolio of interesting clients which will primarily consist of limited companies but will also include sole traders and partnerships from an array of industry sectors.

The workload will include the focused towards the preparation of year-end accounts and tax computations, but will also include the preparation of management accounts and the completion of VAT returns and bookkeeping work.

The successful candidate will have excellent experience of working in a varied general practice position including Accounts preparation and Tax compliance work. Existing practice experience is essential and candidates AAT Qualified or Qualified by Experience.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Preparation of limited company statutory accounts and corporation tax computations and returns
Preparation of sole trader and partnership accounts
Reporting to managers and partners
Basic self-assessment tax return preparation
Preparation of VAT returns
Completing bookkeeping for clients
Dealing with HMRC correspondence

Skills:

AAT Qualified and QBE candidates be considered
Experience of working in practice is essential
