Specialist Accountancy Practice recruiters Clark Wood are working with a leading independent firm of chartered accountants in Swansea who, as a result of continued growth, are seeking to recruit an ambitious Accounts Senior (Accountancy Practice) to join their team.

The successful candidate will have excellent experience of working in a varied general practice position including Accounts preparation. Candidates who are ACA / ACCA Qualified those at the final stages of their studies will both be considered

Working as an Accounts Senior (Accountancy Practice), the successful individual will undertake a varied role with excellent scope for development. You will have the opportunity to gain responsibility for your own portfolio of interesting clients which will primarily consist of limited companies but will also include some private individuals and partnerships from an array of industry sectors.

The workload will be varied with this is being very much a general practice role. It will include the preparation and review of both year-end accounts and tax returns, management accounts preparation and the review of VAT and bookkeeping work completed by junior staff.

Aside from the day to day compliance focused activities, you will act as an advisor to your clients, working closely with them to assist them in achieving their growth targets.

Duties & Responsibilities

Preparation of limited company statutory accounts
Assistance with business advisory work
Reporting to partners – you will be involved with preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships and SME’s.
Basic self-assessment tax return preparation
Undertaking basic tax research under supervision
Assistance with tax planning and advisory work
Dealing with HMRC correspondence

Skills

ACA / ACCA Qualified or Part Qualified
Experience of supervising / reviewing work completed by junior staff would be beneficial
