Accountancy Practice recruitment specialist Clark Wood are delighted to be working with a highly reputable and nationally regarded firm of chartered accountants who, due to continued success and growth, are looking to add an ambitious Accounts Senior to join their team in Bicester where you will have responsibility for your own diverse client portfolio.

Our client is looking for an ambitious individual with practice experience to undertake a varied and challenging position in which you will work as a Senior Accountant within the team, ensuring the provision of accurate and efficient accounting and tax services to your clients.

The workload will be varied and will include the preparation and review of both year-end and management accounts for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships as well as the completion and review of the associated tax compliance work. You will also be responsible for reviewing bookkeeping and VAT returns completed by junior staff for clients within your portfolio.

With this role being more than your typical compliance position, the successful candidate will develop into a well-rounded business advisor and you will work with a range of high performing and entrepreneurial businesses, tailoring advice to each client to enable them to achieve their strategic goals.

Working for a leading and prestigious national firm, you will be undertake a role which offers a real breadth of exposure with your portfolio consisting of a genuine mixture of clients including groups, corporate and non-corporate businesses, not for profits, sole traders and partnerships.

Excellent communication skills are a pre-requisite for this position as you will have the responsibility of dealing directly with clients including running client meetings.

An excellent level of technical knowledge is essential as you will act as a key technical contact for both clients and internal team members, providing assistance on accounting and taxation queries where required.

The ideal candidate may be ACA / ACCA Qualified or at the final stages of their studies and will have strong experience of dealing with a broad range of clients within a practice setting.

Duties & Responsibilities

Client management
Preparing and reviewing year-end accounts for Limited Companies, sole traders, and partnerships
Preparing and reviewing Corporation Tax & computations
Management accounts work including use of online accounting software
Ad hoc special assignment work
Working closely with the partners
Assisting and training junior members of the team

Skills & Experience

ACCA / ACA Qualified or Part Qualified
Experience of working in practice is essential
