Clark Wood are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Accounts Technician to join a highly regarded independent firm of Chartered Accountants based in Huntingdon.
This is an excellent opportunity for an AAT qualified, ACA / ACCA part-qualified or experienced practice accountant looking to take the next step in their career within a supportive and growing firm.
Working with a varied portfolio of SMEs, limited companies, partnerships and sole traders, you will play a key role in delivering accounts, VAT and bookkeeping services while developing strong client relationships.
The Role
As a Senior Accounts Technician, your responsibilities will include:

Preparing statutory year-end accounts for a portfolio of clients including limited companies, partnerships and sole traders.
Preparing and reviewing VAT returns in line with HMRC and Making Tax Digital requirements.
Acting as a key point of contact for clients, supporting with accounting and bookkeeping queries.
Reviewing work completed by junior team members and providing guidance where required.
Assisting with management accounts, budgeting and forecasting assignments.
Working with cloud accounting software including Xero, QuickBooks and Sage.
Managing deadlines and ensuring a high level of client service is maintained.
Supporting Managers and Partners with client delivery and advisory opportunities.

About You
The successful candidate will ideally have:

AAT Level 4 qualification, ACA / ACCA part-qualified, qualified, or qualified by experience.
Previous experience working within a UK accountancy practice.
Strong knowledge of accounts preparation, VAT and bookkeeping.
Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks or Sage.
Experience reviewing work and supporting junior team members.
Excellent communication skills with a client-focused approach.
Ability to manage multiple client deadlines in a structured and organised manner.
