​Clark Wood are working with a well-established and growing independent firm of accountants in High Wycombe, who are looking for a Senior Accountant to join their friendly team. The firm is known for its supportive culture and strong emphasis on professional development.

As a Senior Accountant, you’ll play a key role in supporting a varied portfolio of clients across bookkeeping, payroll, accounts preparation, VAT, and personal tax. You’ll gain exposure to all areas of general practice, with the opportunity to broaden your technical skills and progress toward full qualification (if applicable).

The role will involve:

  • Maintaining accurate bookkeeping records for a diverse range of clients

  • Preparing management accounts, VAT returns, and year-end financial statements

  • Processing and managing client payrolls, including statutory submissions

  • Preparing self-assessment tax returns and assisting clients with MTD compliance

  • Supporting partners and senior accountants on ad hoc tasks and audits of UK subsidiary companies

  • Ensuring compliance with UK GAAP, FRS 102, and relevant legislation

The ideal candidate:

  • Part-qualified / QBE / newly qualified AAT, ACCA, or ACA with at least 3 years’ practice experience

  • Strong bookkeeping and payroll knowledge

  • Proficient in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage

  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and communication skills

  • Confident working independently and as part of a close-knit team
