Accounts Senior

​Clark Wood, specialist recruiters for accountancy practices, are partnering with a well-established and forward-thinking chartered accountancy firm in Newton Abbot. Due to continued growth, the firm is seeking an ambitious Accounts Senior to join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with one of Devon’s leading accountancy practices, gaining hands-on experience in a varied general practice environment. You’ll be involved in accounts preparation, tax compliance, and advisory work, with scope to take responsibility for your own portfolio of clients.

Key Responsibilities

•Prepare statutory accounts for limited companies and corporation tax computations and returns.

•Support business advisory projects and provide input to management accounting.

•Prepare accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and SMEs.

•Assist with self-assessment tax returns and HMRC correspondence.

•Undertake basic tax research under supervision.

•Contribute to tax planning and advisory work.

•Supervise and review work completed by junior staff where required.

Skills & Experience

•ACA / ACCA qualified or part-qualified (qualified by experience will be considered).

•Experience in a general practice accounting role, including accounts and tax compliance.

•Ability to manage a portfolio of clients and build strong relationships.

•Experience in supervising or reviewing junior staff is advantageous.

•Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and commercial awareness.
