Accounts Senior

​A well-established independent firm of accountants in South Bristol (Bedminster) is looking to recruit an Accounts Senior to join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a technically strong accountant who enjoys working closely with a variety of owner-managed businesses and mentoring junior colleagues.

Role Overview:

You’ll take ownership of a portfolio of clients including SMEs and corporate entities with turnovers up to £10m. The role is hands-on and varied—ranging from preparing and reviewing year-end accounts to offering client-facing advisory support. You’ll also play a key role in developing junior team members and helping maintain high technical standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review statutory accounts for a range of SMEs and corporate clients.

• Ensure compliance with UK accounting standards and internal best practices.

• Mentor and support junior staff, providing training and technical guidance.

• Manage workflow and deadlines effectively within the team.

• Use software such as CCH, Xero, Sage, QuickBooks, and Microsoft Office.

• Liaise with clients, building strong working relationships and delivering financial insights.

Requirements:

• Solid UK practice experience with strong technical accounting skills.

• ACA / ACCA qualified or qualified by experience.

• Experience using cloud-based software like Xero, Sage, and QuickBooks is beneficial.

• Confident communicator with leadership and mentoring capabilities.

• Organised, detail-focused, and able to manage a varied workload.
