Clark Wood is delighted to be working with a leading firm of accountants in Braintree who are looking to add an Accounts Semi Senior to their growing team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with solid accounting experience, looking to develop their career in a supportive and progressive environment with a leading Essex practice.

Key Requirements:

3+ years of practice experience.

ACA/ACCA trainee or fully qualified AAT (with or without Apprenticeship experience).

Audit experience is a plus, but not essential

Excellent communication skills, both internally and with clients.

Responsibilities:

•Support the team with a range of accounting tasks, including VAT controls, PAYE, and other complex areas.

•Prepare draft accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.

Ensure compliance with current accounting standards (FRS105, FRS102(1a) desirable).

•Conduct analytical reviews of financial statements and provide insightful feedback.

•Prepare tax computations for corporate clients.

•Assist in the preparation of management accounts and highlight any unusual financial patterns.

•Communicate with clients to gather necessary information and resolve queries during accounts preparation.

•Support the audit team with tasks such as transaction testing and balance sheet analysis.

•Review VAT return schedules and liaise with clients to ensure timely submission.

•Mentor and provide feedback to junior accountants and assistants.

•Meet deadlines and budget requirements for assignments.
