Accountancy Practice recruitment specialists Clark Wood are working leading independent firm of accountants based in Bovey Tracey who are looking for an Accounts Assistant or Accounts semi senior to join their growing team.
The successful person will undertake a varied general practice role and will be responsible for drafting year-end accounts for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships as well as the preparation of the associated corporate and personal tax computations and returns. You will also be involved in the completion of bookkeeping work for clients as well as the preparation of management accounts and VAT returns.

The ideal candidate will have had a grounding in general practice work and may be AAT Part Qualified / Qualified or may have already begun studying towards the ACCA / ACA qualifications.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Preparation of draft accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
Preparation of personal returns
Preparation of corporate tax computations and returns
Bookkeeping work for clients
Preparation of VAT returns and management accounts
Liaising with clients to resolve queries where necessary
Communication with clients in relation to taxation matters including arranging delivery of information and meetings to sign off tax returns
Communication with HMRC in relation to client taxation matters
