Accountancy Practice recruitment specialists Clark Wood are currently working with a prestigious, progressive independent firm of chartered accountants in Warwickshire who are looking for a driven and experienced Accounts Manager to join their team in Leamington Spa where there will be genuine prospects for progression to Director.

As an Accounts Manager your role will involve the management and running of a varied portfolio of clients which will include a mix of small-medium limited companies, sole traders and partnerships from a wide array of business sectors. You will work closely with your clients, acting as their primary point of contact and having responsibility for ensuring that all work for your clients is completed accurately and efficiently, maintaining the excellent service levels they have come to expect from the firm.

Aside from the client management aspect of the role, you will be responsible for managing and assisting in the development of a small team which is likely to consist of 2 - 3 staff. You will be responsible for delegating and reviewing their work and providing feedback and support to them as necessary. Strong coaching skills and excellent technical knowledge are therefore a must.

Working closely with the Senior Partner, you will play a key role in the continued success and growth of the firm, directly contributing to the continued growth strategy.

Networking and involvement with business development will also be a factor in the role, both with the existing client base and with a view to winning over prospective clients. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are imperative for this role as it is key that you can build and maintain a successful working relationship with an array of clients.

The ideal candidate will be ACA / ACCA Qualified with strong and varied general practice experience with the ambition and desire to play an integral role in the development of a forward thinking-firm.

Duties & Responsibilities:
 
Managing a diverse portfolio of clients from a range of industry sectors
Finalisation and review of Statutory Accounts and Management Accounts
Preparation and review of tax computations and returns
Involvement with tax planning work and the provision of advisory services to clients
Supporting the partners and clients with any bespoke queries and ad hoc project work as required
Acting as primary point of contact for an array of clients
Take responsibility for your own billing, and managing your own workload and that of the team in a timely and efficient manner, while all the time ensuring we exceed client expectations

Skills:
 
ACCA / ACA Qualified
Practice experience essential
Client and staff management experience
Experience of reviewing work prepared by junior members of staff
Business development / networking experience would be highly beneficial
