Public Practice recruitment specialists Clark Wood are delighted to be working with a highly distinguished and leading independent firm of Chartered Accountants who are now looking to add an Accounts Manager / Business Services Manager to join their team in East London.

As an Accounts Manager / Business Services Manager your role will predominantly consist of providing Accounting and Tax compliance services to a varied portfolio of clients including limited companies (both Audit and Audit exempt clients), sole traders, and partnerships. The workload will involve the review (and preparation in more complex cases) of both statutory and management accounts as well as tax compliance and VAT work.

This role offers the incumbent an excellent level of responsibility and autonomy as the successful individual will play an integral role in the continued success of the Business Services team. You will be responsible for building and maintaining excellent working relationships with both new and existing clients as well as being involved in the supervision and development of junior members of the team.

The ideal candidate will be ACA / ACCA Qualified and will have relevant experience of working in practice and strong knowledge of financial reporting standards. Previous experience of both portfolio and staff management are highly desirable.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The role will predominantly involve reviewing and preparing statutory accounts, management accounts and corporation tax computations and returns
You will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively under pressure to meet strict deadlines and work well within a team.
Experience of preparation of incorporated and unincorporated accounts in an accountancy practice using an accounting software package
Managing & supervising the work of more junior staff
Review accounts and act as point of reference to the team with regard to complex issues
Involved in some practice development work for the firm and you would be fully supported in these activities

Skills:

ACA / ACCA Qualified
Experience of managing a portfolio of clients
Experience of working in practice is essential
