Circa £42,000 - £48,000 (Dependent on Experience)

Clark Wood, specialists in Accountancy Practice recruitment, is partnering with a leading independent firm of chartered accountants in Macclesfield to recruit an experienced Senior Accountant / Accounts Manager to join their team.

As an Accounts Manager, you will be responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of clients, including small to medium-sized limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships across various sectors. You will serve as the main point of contact for your clients, ensuring all their accounting needs are met accurately and efficiently. Managing workflow and supervising junior staff will also be key aspects of your role, providing support and reviewing their work as necessary.

While your focus will primarily be on reviewing team outputs, you will also engage in hands-on preparation work for more complex clients when required.

The ideal candidate will be ACCA/ACA Qualified (or Qualified by Experience) with robust and varied general practice experience. Exceptional communication skills are essential to establish and maintain successful client relationships. You should be proactive and able to work independently.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Managing a diverse portfolio of clients (number dependent on experience)

Reviewing Limited Company Financial Statements

Preparing and reviewing management accounts for clients

Overseeing portfolio work-planning

Providing timely feedback and guidance on team assignments

Supporting and mentoring junior team members

Negotiating and agreeing fees with clients

Assisting partners and clients with bespoke queries and ad hoc projects

Acting as the primary client liaison

Efficiently managing your own workload and that of the team to exceed client expectations

Participating in business development initiatives

Skills Required:

ACCA/ACA Qualified (Qualified by Experience will be considered)

Essential practice experience

Experience in client management is advantageous

Ability to review work prepared by junior team members
