Accountancy Practice recruitment specialists Clark Wood are working with a leading and prestigious firm of chartered accountants in Sheffield who are looking for an experienced Accounts Manager to join their team.

As an Accounts Manager, your role will involve managing a diverse portfolio of clients which will include a mix of limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships as well as some international clients.

You will act as the primary point of contact for your clients and will have responsibility for ensuring that all associated work for them is completed accurately and efficiently. Your role will be focused on the review of statutory accounts and tax compliance primarily but will also see you working with senior managers and partners to provide business advisory services.

Aside from the client management aspect of the role, you will be responsible for managing and assisting in the development of junior staff which will include providing support to them where necessary and reviewing their work.

The ideal candidate will be ACCA / ACA Qualified with strong and varied general practice experience. Excellent communication skills are imperative for this role as it is key that you can build and maintain a successful working relationship with multiple clients.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Managing a portfolio of clients and taking responsibility for ensuring their accounts, corporate tax & VAT returns and any ad-hoc reporting is prepared to a high standard and on a timely basis
Work with the clients directly to understand the requirements, and identifying areas where more detailed advice may be required
Identify opportunities for any additional services that clients may need and liaise with subject specialists
Responding to HMRC enquiries
Reviewing work prepared by accounts associates/trainees
Developing and appraising junior members of the team
Make billing decisions for client portfolio

Skills:

ACCA / ACA Qualified
Practice experience essential
Client management experience
Staff management experience
