Accounts Assistant / Accounts Technician

Public Practice recruitment specialists Clark Wood are currently working with an established and growing firm of accountants in Blackpool who are looking to add an Accounts Assistant or Accounts Technician to join their team.

The role will predominantly involve preparing statutory accounts for small limited companies, sole traders and partnerships from a range of business sectors as well as undertaking tax compliance, bookkeeping and VAT work.

As an Accounts Technician you will gain exposure to a broad range of clients and will have responsibility for undertaking a varied and interesting role. You will be client facing and will have the opportunity to progress and develop to a senior position.

The ideal candidate may AAT Qualified or may be qualified by experience. Previous experience of working in an accounts focused position within a practice environment is essential. Individuals who are studying towards their ACCA qualification will also be considered.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Statutory accounts preparation for limited companies, sole traders & partnerships
Preparation of corporate and personal tax computations
Liaising with HMRC
Preparation and review of VAT returns
Preparation and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
Preparation of management accounts
Ability to write correspondence at a high professional level

Skills:

AAT Qualified or QBE
Experience of working in practice is essential
Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills - written and verbal
