Accountancy Practice recruitment specialists Clark Wood are working with a reputable and fast-growing firm of Chartered Accountants in Coventry who are now looking to recruit an Accounts Assistant Manager to their team.

As an Accounts Assistant Manager, you will have responsibility for your own client portfolio from the outset with a view to developing and growing this as you progress with the firm.

The role will predominantly consist of providing Accounting and Tax compliance services to a varied portfolio of clients including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies (both Audit and Audit exempt clients). The workload will involve the preparation and review of both statutory and management accounts as well as tax compliance work completed for your clients.

This role offers the incumbent an excellent level of responsibility and autonomy as the successful candidate will have responsibility for their own portfolio of clients as well as being involved in the supervision of junior members of the team.

As maintaining and building client relationships is a key aspect of the position a personable and professional manner are a pre-requisite. Previous experience of manging your own client portfolio is beneficial.

The ideal candidate will be ACA / ACCA Qualified and will have relevant experience of working in practice and strong knowledge of financial reporting standards.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The role will predominantly involve preparing statutory accounts, management accounts and corporation tax computations and returns
You will be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively under pressure to meet strict deadlines and work well within a team.
Experience of preparation of incorporated and unincorporated accounts in an accountancy practice using an accounting software package
Managing & supervising the work of more junior staff
Review accounts and act as point of reference to the team with regard to complex issues
Involved in some practice development work for the firm and you would be fully supported in these activities

Skills:

ACA / ACCA Qualified
Experience of managing a portfolio of clients
Strong Accounts preparation experience is essential
