​Accounts & Audit Senior - Liverpool

Accountancy Practice recruitment specialists, Clark Wood, are currently partnering with a progressive and leading independent firm of chartered accountants in Liverpool, who are looking to add an Accounts & Audit Senior to their growing team.

This well-established firm has a strong presence in the region and serves a diverse client base, ranging from small-medium businesses to owner-managed businesses (OMBs). The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing a varied portfolio, gaining exposure to clients across multiple industries.

Role Overview:

The position offers a balanced mix of responsibilities, including the preparation and review of accounts and tax compliance work, as well as leading audit assignments from initial planning through to completion. The workload will be evenly split between audit and accounts, depending on the audit schedule.

As an Accounts & Audit Senior, you will be client-facing and take responsibility for supervising junior staff, assisting with their development and ensuring high standards of work.

Ideal Candidate:

ACCA/ACA Qualified or Qualified by Experience

Final-stage ACCA/ACA students will also be considered

Recent experience in a mixed audit and accounts role

Proven experience in leading audit assignments

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and execute audit plans that effectively address audit objectives

Participate in audit planning and fraud discussions to identify risks and strategies

Oversee all aspects of audit fieldwork and completion

Ensure all planned audit work meets the required objectives

Supervise and mentor junior team members

Prepare accounts for sole traders, limited companies, and partnerships
