Accountancy Practice recruitment specialists Clark Wood are currently working with a highly respected independent firm of chartered accountants in Solihull who are looking to add an Audit & Accounts Senior to their team.

Working as an Audit & Accounts Senior, the successful person will undertake a varied role in which you will gain exposure to a wide range of clients from a variety of business sectors.

You will be client facing and will be responsible for the supervision of junior staff, assisting in their development. You will work towards the management of your own client portfolio and as such, you will have direct responsibility for communicating with clients.

The role will include the preparation and review of accounts and tax compliance work as well as leading audit assignments from the initial planning stage through to completion on a range of respected and interesting clients in the area. The workload will be fairly evenly split between the audit and non-audit elements of the role.

The ideal candidate will be ACCA / ACA Qualified or at the latter stages of their studies and will have recent experience of undertaking a mixed audit and accounts position. Experience of leading audit assignments is essential.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Prepare the audit plan and ensure it appropriately addresses audit objectives

Take an active part in the audit planning and fraud discussion to identify audit risks and appropriate audit strategy

Oversee all aspects of audit fieldwork and completion

Ensure planned audit work is appropriately completed to satisfy audit objectives

Supervising & developing more junior members of staff

Accounts preparation for sole traders, limited companies & partnerships

Preparation of management accounts and reports for clients

Skills:

ACA / ACCA Qualified or Finalist

Experience of leading Audit assignments is essential
