Accountancy Practice recruitment specialists Clark Wood are currently working with a leading independent firm of chartered accountants in Northampton who are looking to add an Accounts & Audit Senior to their growing team.

Working as an Accounts & Audit Senior, the successful person will undertake a varied role in which you will work with clients from a variety of business sectors. You will gain exposure to a real mix of clients including corporate businesses, limited companies, some groups, as well as charities and not for profit clients.

You will be responsible for leading audit assignments from the initial planning stage through to completion on a range of clients including group structured entities and large stand-alone limited companies, as well as some not-for-profits. The workload won’t solely be audit focused and will include the preparation and review of year-end accounts and corporation tax compliance work.

This will be a genuinely mixed and varied role with the exact weighting of the responsibilities being dependent on the successful candidate’s desires to an extent, with the minimum amount of audit being 30% of the workload.

As a senior, you will be client facing and will be responsible for the supervision of junior staff, assisting in their development.

The ideal candidate will be ACCA / ACA Qualified or at the final stages of their studies and will have recent experience of undertaking a mixed audit and accounts position. Experience of leading audit assignments is essential.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Leading audit assignments from planning through to completion
Accounts preparation and review for sole traders, limited companies & partnerships
Preparation of management accounts and reports for clients
Preparation of corporate tax returns
Supervising & developing more junior members of staff

Skills:

ACA / ACCA Qualified or Finalist
Experience of leading Audit assignments
Experience of working in practice is essential
