Accountancy Practice recruitment specialists Clark Wood are currently working with a leading and highly regarded firm of chartered accountants in Carlisle who are looking to add an ACA / ACCA Qualified Audit & Accounts Senior to their team.

Working as an Audit & Accounts Senior, the successful person will undertake a varied role in which you will gain exposure to a wide range of clients from a variety of business sectors.

The role will be weighted towards the audit aspect and you will be responsible for leading audit assignments from the initial planning stage through to completion on a range of clients including group structured entities and large stand-alone limited companies, as well as some not-for-profits. The workload won’t solely be audit focused and will include the preparation and review of year-end accounts and corporation tax compliance work.

You will be client facing and will be responsible for the supervision of junior staff, assisting in their development.

The ideal candidate will be ACCA / ACA Qualified or at the final stages of their studies and will have recent experience of undertaking a mixed audit and accounts position. Experience of leading audit assignments is essential. Individuals coming from a pure audit role will be considered.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Prepare the audit plan and ensure it appropriately addresses audit objectives

Take an active part in the audit planning and fraud discussion to identify audit risks and appropriate audit strategy

Oversee all aspects of audit fieldwork and completion

Ensure planned audit work is appropriately completed to satisfy audit objectives

Supervising & developing more junior members of staff

Accounts preparation for sole traders, limited companies & partnerships

Preparation of management accounts and reports for clients

​Skills:

ACA / ACCA Qualified or Finalist

Experience of leading Audit assignments
