Accountancy Practice recruitment specialists Clark Wood are working with a well-regarded and prestigious firm of chartered accountants in St Helens who are looking to add an Accounts & Audit Senior / Client Manager to their team.

As an Accounts & Audit Senior / Client Manager, the successful candidate will undertake a varied role in which you will gain exposure to a wide range of clients from a variety of business sectors.

You will also be responsible for managing a portfolio of accounts clients, acting as first point of contact for them. You will you be responsible for preparing and reviewing year-end accounts and corporation tax returns for your clients. You will be responsible for leading audit assignments on businesses from a wide array of sectors from the initial planning stage through to completion.

Joining the St Helens office you will work with clients from a multitude of industries and, due to the firm’s excellent reputation in the area, you will gain exposure to working with a range array of businesses.

As a Senior / Client Manager you will of course be client facing and will be responsible for the supervision of junior staff, assisting in their development as they progress.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Managing your own client portfolio with a mix of some larger audit clients and mostly SME clients with a turnover mean of circa £5m
Liaising directly with clients to provide end to end service delivery on time and managing the client relationship in a professional and friendly manner
Leading Audit’s from planning to completion
Supervising more junior members of staff as appropriate, including checking their work and providing guidance as required
Managing own time and that of any junior staff, recognising any problems at an early stage to ensure that jobs are completed within budget
Planning and preparing for accounts preparation assignments for a wide range of business entities from both manual and computerised accounting records, under supervision from Manager/Director.
Completing sets of accounts to a high quality with supporting schedules, working from source documents/records to final accounts for review by the appropriate Director
Preparing monthly management accounts for a few clients, as required
VAT returns preparation
Computing Corporation Tax liabilities using proprietary computer software
Training and assisting clients with software and accounting systems

Skills:

ACA / ACCA Qualified (Part Qualified and QBE candidates will be considered)
Experience of leading Audit assignments
Practice experience is essential
