Specialist Accountancy Practice recruitment consultants, Clark Wood, are working with a prestigious and progressive firm of chartered accountants in Northampton who are looking to add an ambitious Accounts & Audit Semi Senior to their growing team.

As an Accounts & Audit Semi Senior your role will involve a mixture of accounts, tax and audit work and you will gain exposure to a diverse client base including limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships from a variety of industry sectors with annual turnovers ranging up to circa £50million.

The exact weighting of the responsibilities in the role will be dependent on the successful person to an extent with the minimum amount of audit being 30% of the workload.

The ideal individual will have varied general practice experience, including experience of assisting on Audit assignments on a variety of clients, and will hold either the AAT qualification or may have begun studying towards the ACA / ACCA qualifications.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Assisting with the preparation of annual accounts for Limited Companies, Sole traders, Partnerships, and other entities
Assistance with the Preparation of Corporation Tax computations
Assisting with audits of Limited Companies and other entities
Undertaking audit substantive tests
Preparing and updating system notes
Supporting the audit senior
Preparing and completing some basic sections, including analytical review, for review by the senior
Liaison with clients via phone, email and in person.

Skills:

AAT Qualified or ACA / ACCA Students
Existing practice experience is essential
Experience of assisting on audit assignments is preferred although individuals with accounts experience with a genuine interest in gaining exposure to audit will be considered
