Accounts & Audit Assistant Manager

Specialist Accountancy Practice recruitment consultancy, Clark Wood, is currently working with this leading and well renowned North East firm of accountants who are seeking to add an Accounts & Audit Assistant Manager to the team in their Durham office.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced ACA / ACCA Qualified individual to progress their career within a well-regarded firm where there will be excellent opportunities for continuous development and progression.

This would be an ideal role for either an existing Assistant Manager who is looking to progress their career or for an Accounts & Audit Senior who is now looking to take the next step in their development and take on added responsibility.

The workload within the role will be varied and will include the preparation and review of year end accounts, leading audit assignments from planning through to completion, and preparing and reviewing corporate tax returns.

You will be working towards the management of your own varied portfolio of commercial clients which will involve being first point of contact for those clients, as well as planning, budgeting, and ensuring the efficient completion of both audit and non-audit assignments.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Working with a diverse portfolio of clients
Planning audits and identifying necessary resources and key risk areas
Suggesting areas for audit efficiency and improvement
Supervising audits and ensuring the timely completion of assignments
Working closely with clients, offering informative and relevant advice in regards to structuring, and systems
Monitoring WIP for your portfolio, ensuring all work is completed within agreed budgets and timescales
Providing support in advisory and business planning arrangements
Managing trainee accountants and assisting with their development
Undertaking ad-hoc project or consultancy work for other departments or sector teams
Drafting and completing files including statutory financial statements and formal audit letters
Developing technical knowledge

Skills:

ACA or ACCA Qualified
Experience of leading on audit assignments
Portfolio management experience would be beneficial
