Accountant - Practice

​Clark Wood is working with a well-established independent accountancy firm in Walsall who are seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to join their growing team.

This is a key role within the practice, offering the opportunity to manage a portfolio of clients, oversee accounts preparation work, and supervise junior staff, all within a friendly and professional environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Managing a portfolio of clients including limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships

• Reviewing year-end accounts and tax computations prepared by junior staff

• Ensuring deadlines are met and work is completed to a high standard

• Providing business advice and support to clients

• Supervising, mentoring and developing junior team members

• Liaising with clients and HMRC on day-to-day matters

• Using cloud-based software such as Xero, QuickBooks and Sage

Requirements:

• ACA / ACCA qualified or qualified by experience

• Minimum of 4–5 years’ experience in a UK accountancy practice

• Proven experience managing client relationships and reviewing staff work

• Strong technical knowledge of accounting and tax compliance

• Excellent organisational and communication skills
