Accounts Manager / Client Manager – Stoke-on-Trent
£55,000 - £70,000 + Hybrid Working + Excellent Benefits
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts Manager / Client Manager to join the Stoke-on-Trent office of a leading national accountancy firm.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious accountant looking to take ownership of a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses, SMEs and corporate clients. You will play a key role in managing client relationships, overseeing accounts work, supporting junior team members and working closely with senior management to deliver a high-quality service.

The RoleAs an Accounts Manager / Client Manager, your responsibilities will include:
  • Managing a varied portfolio of OMBs, SMEs and corporate clients.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact for clients, building strong long-term relationships.
  • Reviewing statutory accounts, financial statements and corporation tax computations.
  • Providing commercial accounting advice and supporting clients with their business needs.
  • Managing workflow across the portfolio, ensuring deadlines and quality standards are maintained.
  • Reviewing work completed by junior accountants and providing coaching and development support.
  • Working closely with Partners and senior team members on portfolio management and business development opportunities.
  • Identifying opportunities to add value through additional services and proactive client support.
About YouThe successful candidate will ideally have:
  • ACA or ACCA qualification, or be qualified by experience.
  • Previous experience managing a portfolio within an accountancy practice environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of accounts preparation and UK accounting standards.
  • Experience working with owner-managed businesses and SMEs.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.
  • The ability to manage workloads, meet deadlines and support the development of junior staff.
  • Experience with cloud accounting software such as Xero or QuickBooks would be advantageous.
